🎭 Where You Can Help (Role Overview)
(You’ll choose your preferences on the application.)

Altar Support – Assist altar builders with ofrendas (marigolds, candles, photos, offerings).

Chalk Cemetery – Welcome guests and guide the memorial-making experience; help with candles, chalk, flowers.

Children’s Activities – Support community partners with simple crafts and games (paper flowers, masks, ring toss, books, photos).

Flower Booths – Help sell marigolds to guests; proceeds support the festival.

Vendor & Sponsor Support – Assist with check-in, positioning, and load-in/load-out for 150+ vendors & sponsors (early morning + end-of-day).

Info Booth & Guest Services – Answer questions, give directions, and keep the good vibes flowing.

Setup & Teardown – Help dress the venue the day before and/or close the festival safely and efficiently.
🕑 Volunteer Shifts
We offer 2–3 hour shifts across the day.

Early Setup: 6:30 AM – 9:00 AM
-
Morning: 9:00 AM – 12:00 PM
-
Midday: 12:00 PM – 3:00 PM
-
Afternoon/Closing: 1:00 PM – 4:00 PM
-
Teardown: 4:00 PM – 6:00 PM
Please arrive 30 minutes before your scheduled shift for check-in and instructions.

Check-In: Look for the Volunteer Check-In tent (details sent by email).

Briefing: We provide a quick orientation at the start of every shift.

Dress: Comfortable closed-toe shoes and sun-friendly clothing.

Perks: Water/refreshments; volunteer T-shirts while supplies last.

Age: Volunteers should be 16+; under 16 may help if accompanied by an adult.

Service Hours: We’re happy to sign forms—bring what you need.

👥 Group Volunteers (schools, clubs, churches, companies)
We love groups! On the application, select “Group/Team” and share your estimated headcount and preferred time window. We’ll coordinate placements so your team can serve together.

🔎 Volunteer FAQ
When will I get my assignment?
You’ll receive an email with your role, shift, and check-in details week of the event
Can I volunteer with a friend/family member?
Yes—list their name(s) in the application notes and we’ll do our best to place you together.
What if I’m new and don’t know what to do?
We’ve got you! You’ll get on-site training at check-in and support from your area lead all shift long.
Is there parking?
We’ll send recommended parking options in your confirmation email.
Do I have to stay the entire day?
No. Shifts are 2–3 hours. You can request multiple shifts if you’d like to help longer.
Do you sign student service-hour forms?
Yes. Bring your form to check-out or we can email a confirmation after the event.
What if something changes and I can’t make it?
Please reply to your confirmation email as soon as possible so we can backfill your spot.
